I am interning at a nursing school this summer in Salinas. My preceptor sent me this link to a great article that talks about just one of the shortfalls our health care system is facing today. Although the need for health care professionals (especially nurses and doctors) is immense, training programs can not meet this need. Because of these shortages the accreditation of these schools is on the line, as well as the dreams of many students. Please read if you have the opportunity to and feel free to leave comments.

As a nursing student, I can feel the instability on our current nursing faculty. I feel that it all comes down to the potential dollars a nurse would make in a clinical setting vs. in nursing education. Thanks for the insightful article.
