About Swing Left

In order to maximize Democratic voter turnout in 2018, Swing Left is mobilizing students on college campuses both inside and close to (but outside of) Swing Districts through the Swing Left College Fellowship Program. Swing Left fellows fill an important gap by facilitating partnerships between partisan student groups across campuses within and outside of our Swing Districts. The coordinated effort creates a funnel to meaningful actions with the Democratic campaign in Swing Districts.

Swing Left is seeking a Campus Organizing Manager as the number of fellows and their campus teams grow. Position reports to the Campus Program Manager.

  • Ensure campus fellows are trained to use Swing Left’s tools and efficiently integrate into local campaigns in coordination with Campus Manager.
  • Work with Campus Manager to create and execute engaging campus programming.
  • Manages 15 stipended Student Regional Fellowship Coordinators.
  • Maintain systems of accountability for metrics across regions in coordination with Campus Manager.
  • Helps Campus Manager serve as a liaison between Democratic Campaigns and fellows after the primaries.
  • Build relationships with fellows and provides opportunities to engage and empower them in the mission of Swing Left.

  • A minimum of two years of organizing experience with an emphasis on managing volunteers in volunteer-centric campaigns. Preference for candidates who have worked on campus environments before.
  • Comfortable in a rapidly changing virtual work environment (Swing Left is still very much a startup).
  • High level of comfort using technology to support distributed organizing (Slack, VAN, email platforms, social media platforms, Zoom, etc). Experience with digital organizing not required but is preferred.

Position is at will, but with a expected commitment through November, at $50k annually. Swing Left provides a competitive benefits package. We are happy to answer any questions you have about our benefits, retirement, parental leave policies and other similar benefits in interviews.

We know the GOP’s policies are hurting marginalized people in society the most. That includes people of color, working class families, immigrants, women, and the LGBTQ community. So please take a minute to think about people in and out of your circle who might be part of those communities—and encourage them to apply!
