Call for San Diego Area Candidate Resumes
Health Career Connection announces the opportunity to provide your resume for a paid internship at La Maestra Family Health Centers in San Diego California.
Who: Health Career Connection (HCC) is a national non-profit that inspires and empowers undergraduate students, recent graduates and HCC alumni, particularly those from under-represented or disadvantaged backgrounds, to choose and successfully pursue authentic healthcare and public health careers.
What: HCC offers 10-week, full time, stipend-paid summer internships at health organizations throughout California and the Eastern US seaboard. Our Host Agency Partner, La Maestra Family Health Centers in San Diego, California seeks an intern in their Development Department as a grant writer.
When: June 2017 for 10 weeks, with possibility of full-time employment following a successful internship. Preferential Review for graduating Seniors and recent graduates of 4-year college programs in public health, business administration, and communications.
Where: San Diego, CA (moving expenses and housing are not provided.)

Desired Skill Sets documented in resume:
Capacity to: (a) Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit foundation, corporate, and government funders. (b) Learn to write and prepare grant proposals, reports, and other donor communications. (c) Work with program and operations staff to identify, develop, and package programs that are appropriate for grant funding. (d) Research, compile, organize and present various data for a variety of purposes, including grant proposals and business development. (e) Analyze reports of internal patient population and gather community data from external resources. (f) Prepare reports as requested for grant management, business development, and external affairs. (g) Must be well organized and able to follow-through on assignments with little oversight.
