PIRE scientists and practitioners continually focus on the design and implementation of complex program evaluation strategies and the conduct of research related to health and social issues, and criminal justice. We are searching for Part-Time Research Assistant II (16-20 hours per week) located in Albuquerque, NM to provide assistance with data collection for two ongoing NIH-funded research studies.  Travel around the State of New Mexico will be required, minimal overnight. 

Job Requirements
  • Have a current NM driver’s license and access to transportation

  • Excellent attention to details

  • Excellent organizational and communication (including writing) skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a data collection team

  • Ability to work comfortably with LGBTI youth; School officials; Tribal Organizations and American Indian Populations

  • M.A. or equivalent degree;  or currently working on a Degree in the social sciences, or a relevant discipline; or minimum of one year of experience in behavioral-health-related research

  • Experience working with SGM youth or American Indian Populations preferred

  • Qualitative Interview experience preferred

Some Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct field data collection according to established protocols and timelines (individual interviews and focus groups)
  • Data Entry and data cleaning; Office products and NVivo qualitative software
  • Assist in preparing manuscripts and project reports; Conducting literature reviews
  • Participate in monthly project status meetings Coordinate with team members concerning assignments and scheduling
