DiYA (Diabetes in Young Adults) Study - Pasadena, CA

DiYA (Diabetes in Young Adults) study:

We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented, attentive individual with an interest in diabetes research to join our team, working on a study to determine the incidence of type 1 diabetes among young adults. This position is based at Kaiser Permanente Southern California Department of Research & Evaluation in Pasadena. Excellent interpersonal skills are a must, as well as a strong ability to communicate with people from diverse ethnic, economic and educational backgrounds. Responsibilities include: recruiting new and current study participants to invite them to complete study activities; preparing and sending mailings and study files, administering questionnaires, and tracking and entering participant data. Previous telephone recruitment experience preferred.

Responsibilities include:

  • Recruiting and consenting mothers for study participation, including by mail, email, and phone
  • Collecting data via telephone and assisting participants with consent and questionnaire completion
  • Tracking and managing participants, following up to ensure completion of consent and data collection
  • Must be able to multi-task, pay attention to detail and follow study's protocol in a timely manner
  • Flexible team player, must be able to handle stressful situations with diplomacy
  • At least one evening shift once a week is required. Occasional Saturday hours required.

Although this position primarily supports the DiYA project, the research assistant will also provide support for other studies.
