Be part of a statewide movement to eliminate opioid overdose deaths in California.
The Center for Health Leadership and Practice at the Public Health Institute (PHI) is recruiting up to 40 VISTA volunteers to serve in local opioid safety coalitions across California. These multi-sector coalitions are part of the California Opioid Safety Network (COSN), which reaches more than 85% of Californians statewide. In partnership with prescribers, pharmacists, public health departments, law enforcement, harm reduction organizations, schools, and community members, each local coalition is taking concrete steps to prevent addiction, expand treatment, and save lives.
As an AmeriCorps VISTA you will be at the forefront of the epidemic by helping coalitions mount a local response. VISTA members commit one year working full-time to support coalition capacity through project management, data analysis, community outreach, materials development, social media and website development, and more. You will also be part of a statewide learning network with other VISTA members serving in coalitions statewide and have access to virtual and in-person professional development opportunities.
